Mark Warne

Born /Brisbane, College of Art Brisbane –Living/ Fingal

Inspiration/ Everything, Mediums / anything, preference for natural materials

Outstanding Quality/ Large scale Community projects and commissions/ Artist Educator

   

I have worked in a wide variety of media and over 30 years have predominantly been a maker of things that reflect my experiences of places and people I meet. The marine environment is my main source for sculpture. I work with students with disabilities and have found this to be a most rewarding direction in my art career.

Exhibiting since 1976, 2 solo shows, 42 group shows, 24 selected shows, 18 awards

Public and private commissions, represented Way of Design, Jackman gallery, St Kilda , Currumbin, Gold Coast city gallery

In 2003 I won the Best Australian Memento Award with my Ned Brooch
