The Sculptors Society Gold Coast Inc is always happy to welcome new members.

Sculptors Society Gold Coast is a not for profit association.  Members help sustain and build on the 40 year history while enjoying benefits throughout the year.

The objective of the Sculptors' Society Gold Coast is to promote a wider interest in sculpture on the Gold Coast and its periphery. The Society offers sculptors and people interested in this art form a point of contact where issues related to sculpture can be discussed.

It aims to communicate with similar bodies in Queensland and other states. Members’ skills range from the amateur and hobbyist through to the professional. The Society encourages new members to join in to work, learn, exchange ideas and enjoy the company of like-minded people.

An Artist Profile
Full Members will be profiled on the SSGC website with up to 16 images, a biography, contact details and a link to your website.

Sculpture Small Talks

Invited artists are invited to present to members to encourage dialogue around areas relating to sculpture. These evenings can also include sculpture critiques and themed discussions. Dates will be advised in the monthly newsletter as they become available.

Opportunities to Exhibit & Hire The Old Schoolhouse Gallery

The Old Schoolhouse Gallery is an historic building that has been reinstated as an exhibition space at the Benowa grounds. It will undergo refurbishment in early 2018.
This fully equipped gallery space complete with lighting, plinths, projector and screen and catering facilities is also available for members to hire for solo or group exhibitions.
As a member you will receive invitations to exhibit at the annual Exhibitions.

Use of Workshop Facilities and Resources

Members have access to a quality multi functional facility and grounds at Benowa to interact and engage with the sculpture making process. With access to a variety of tools and instruments, this facility offer members an incredible opportunity to develop artistically within purpose built surrounds.
Members are able to borrow books, videos and DVDs from the library located at the Benowa campus.

Contribution to the Society

Members are eligible to vote at Annual General Meetings, be elected to the management committee and join other steering committees.

Members are kept well informed of Society news with a regular newsletter. The newsletter offers information on current opportunities, exhibitions, industry news and special offers. Members will also receive periodic e-bulletins with reminders about workshops, forums and special events.

Invitations to Social Events and Networking

The Society is a great way to make contact with people interested in art and culture and of course, sculpture in particular. Meet and make friends with other artists and like-minded people on outings that have included visits to galleries such as the Tweed River Regional Gallery and QAGOMA in Brisbane. News of these events are through invitation through the newsletter.

We'd like members to talk about and advocate the Society. Next time you are chatting with a friend or family member, remind them of what you are doing at the Society and what is coming up – the Sculpture Small Talk, a sculpture critique, the latest exhibition or workshop. Ask them to tell a friend about the society, to like us on FaceBook, look at our website, check out the workshops. The best and trusted form of marketing is word of mouth.

Volunteer your time – we often need assistance setting up exhibitions, stalls or helping at working bees. It could be anything from a couple of hours to a day of help that will make all the difference. It’s a great time to meet up and enjoy time with a range of members.

To become a member simply fill out a membership form and pay your annual fee to receive these benefits. Full membership runs for 12 months from the date you first join.
